Sounds Good Speech Therapy is a private paediatric service based in Feilding, New Zealand. We see children with a range of communication difficulties and aged from toddlers to teenagers.

Hi, I’m Kirsty. I’m a qualified Speech and Language Therapist with many years’ experience working with children who live with a wide range of difficulties and disorders. I understand that your child has their own individual needs, interests, and personality; and I am dedicated to working with you and your child to meet their needs in the most appropriate way.

I studied at the University of Canterbury and have worked in New Zealand within the Ministry of Education (Special Education), as well as six years in Australia working in busy private practices.

Speech and Language Therapy is my absolute passion and I love being able to help children to communicate to the very best of their ability. Communication gives children power and helps them to achieve academically, socially and personally. All children have something to say, some just need a little help getting their message heard.

I know the importance of making sure therapy is fun, engaging, and effective. It’s important for it to be evidence-based, but therapy also needs to be cost-effective and fit into the life of a busy family. I have an energetic pre-schooler at home so I truly understand how crazy life can get!

My therapy experience is extensive, but I have a special spot in my heart for working with children who are on the Autism Spectrum (ASD). I am PECS trained and I know how to get real results from this therapy. I’ve also had training in New Zealand Sign Language and use key word sign within many of my sessions. I have a sound theoretical knowledge of ASD and have worked on numerous ASD diagnostic panels; but more importantly I know how to get meaningful results from evidence-based one-on-one therapy sessions.

All children deserve the opportunity to fully participate in life and communication is vital for this. I am bringing my skills and experience in treating communication difficuties to Feilding so that your child can get the therapy that is right for them.
